Tidal Tales film celebrates 700th anniversary of St Peter’s Church in Portishead
Take a trip back in time with youth members of Portishead’s MultiStory Drama Academy as they re-enact scenes from the past to celebrate the town’s rich history, sense of community and the 700th anniversary of St Peter’s Church.
Settle back and watch the storming of Portishead’s Battery Point during the Civil War; a tribute to those who left the town to fight in both World Wars; a piece about the Nautical School, moored for a while off shore on the HMS Formidable in Portishead and a scene about ‘The Naughty Parishioners’ … to name but a few!
Devised by MultiStory’s director Abi Hill and atmospherically captured by professional filmmaker Nick Sutton, Tidal Tales transports you through the ages, recreating stories inspired by local families through the Storyboat 700+ campaign – a community heritage project run in partnership between St Peter’s Church and Theatre Orchard and supported by funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
