Party on the Green

Presented by Culture Weston in partnership with SWAN Youth Forum and the local community.

Party on the Green brings a joyful jamboree of community-led outdoor activities and professional performances to Weston’s Coniston Green Park in South Ward. 

From a stunning dance showcase ‘Push’ by Company Chameleon to circus skill workshops by Weston-based circus school FMC, and lots more inbetween, there’s something for all ages to enjoy. 

Be mesmerised by Company Chameleon’s athletic yet sensitive dance and movement style in ‘Push’, a powerful and engaging male duet that explores how we understand and relate to each other. 

Marvel at FMC Circus Arts and their playful show which explores the many different styles of circus performance, featuring aerial performance, hoops and silks. And then try your hand at a range of circus skills in a post-performance workshop.  

Come along for a fun-filled afternoon of free experiences hosted by members of the local community, including face painting and body  tattoos by Bev G Star and the YMCA; crafting with Community Scrapstore North Somerset; drop-in taster session with Weston’s Boombox Youth Project; launch of the For All Healthy Living Centre Library’s summer reading challenge and apple-pressing with Weston Food Clubs. Create your own healthy drinks through pedal power by hopping on a smoothie bike, add your artistic flair to the community gallery artwork and record the day in your very own handmade recycled notebook created with local artist Dylan Barker!  

Party on the Green has been co-created with local community groups and organisations and in consultation with new Culture Weston initiative, the South Ward Community Panel. Volunteers from SWAN Youth Forum will help to run the event.
