Pulled Apart by Stitches: A Patchwork Performance of Home
Sharing personal experiences and recollections about what home means through the power of community voices.
Tea, Toast and a Gas Fire,
A flick book of images sealed together with bricks and concrete.
And a place where the silence is most deafening.”
– Poem by Ceilidh-Marie Bardsley
‘Pulled Apart By Stitches: A Patchwork Performance of Home’ will showcase a selection of short works representing a collection of community voices, including filmed performances from Theatre Orchard’s adult drama group ‘Open Door’ and live spoken word from creative writing group ‘Chapter One’.
Centred around the universal theme of ‘Home’, the event is part of a two-year Theatre Forum Project supported by People’s Health Trust using money raised through the Health Lottery South West.
This represents a year of collaborative work by Theatre Orchard’s Engagement team with members of the community, including young refugees, mother & toddler and elderly friendship groups and young, disabled adults.
Recommended Age: 12+
Theatre Orchard warmly invites people to join the online sharing which we hope will inspire more members of the community to get involved with Theatre Forum as the project enters its second year, which will culminate in a live community theatre performance in Autumn 2022.
Theatre Forum is a two year collaborative community arts project that provides a safe forum for the exploration of social issues and shines a light on the voices and experiences of the local community using drama, poetry, spoken word and movement.
